This Spring we will have some extra Coronation grape plants and Patriot Blueberry plants left over from our plantings. NOTE: These plants will not be organic until after under going organic growing conditions for one year. (pre-order below)
This summer we will be working on developing more acreage in orchard crops and will maintain some wholesale case sales for on farm pickup.
We will also be opening our first section of Strawberry U-Pick this year and we anticipate doing a few test runs on our U-Fish as well.
Pick up on farm is always welcome. Please let us know ahead of time when you will be arriving to ensure we are close by and not off in the forest fishing or foraging.
Summer 2025 we will have our San Marzano tomatoes, pickling cukes, garlic and dill along with cherries, strawberries and peppers. Look for more product listings below as the season progresses.
Andrew and Janie met in Alaska and created a home at the base of the McGregor Mountains where they together established Hope Farm Organics. Now with their sons Oscar and Charlie, and dogs Luke and June, Andrew and Janie operate the farm with the principles of living in harmony with and supporting the ecosystems in which they live and cherish a peaceful quiet life.
Janie is often hiding behind the scenes in the farm's social media, but is as integral a piece to our farm, and to local food security, as any of the seeds that are sown. Janie is originally from Quebec. After living in Yellowknife NT, she rode a bike through Alaska and bumped into Andrew. The two moved to Prince George and started Hope Farm Organics after seeing the lack of food security in the North. Janie has a teaching degree from UNBC and teaches at the local francophone school, where she started Prince George's first farm-to-school program. The program gives students a deeper understanding of where food comes from and the opportunity to learn how to grow their own food to further their connection. Janie's commitment to the future is obvious in her devotion to agriculture and children. She truly is the Keystone of the farm and does her fair share of heavy lifting during the season when school is out of session.
Andrew grew up in rural Kansas and learn the skills needed on a small family farm, then later attended Kansas State University where he attained a BSc. in Agriculture and conservation. After university Andrew moved to Alaska to live out a dream of being in the rugged north and living in the forest. Later while fly fishing in Alaska, Andrew met Janie and the two moved to Prince George where the started to work on building Hope Farm.
We specialize in gourmet San Marzano Tomatoes, Strawberries, Haskap berries, Saskatoon berries, sweet cherries and sour cherries, apples and plums.
